Family Friends Program:

For parents of children with developmental disabilities and other special needs. We offer in-home respite provided by a Family Friends volunteer. An older adult volunteer is matched with a family to visit weekly for 2 hours per visit. The volunteer spends time with the children so that parents can “take a break”. Although the parent must stay in the home during the visit, it is a time to read a book, listen to music, or just be by themselves. A volunteer can go with the parent and children to the playground, a doctor’s visit or school meeting or even to the grocery store, to be a second set of hands and eyes with the children.
